Jasmin Preisig is a Swiss touring car and endurance racing specialist who’s spent over a decade proving that grit, speed, and smart racecraft can get you absolutely anywhere—including to the top step of the podium in one of motorsport’s toughest arenas.

EARLY YEARS

Born on July 17, 1992, in Schwellbrunn, Canton of Appenzell, Switzerland, Preisig had gasoline in her veins from the start. Her father, Walter Preisig, was a racing driver himself—competing in mountain and circuit races—and his passion for motorsport became the family business. By age nine, Jasmin was already behind the wheel of a go-kart, beginning what would become a twelve-year karting career that laid the foundation for everything that followed. Growing up in the small village of Thal in Canton St. Gallen, she balanced a normal childhood with an abnormal obsession: going fast.

OTHER INTERESTS

Trained as a Kauffrau (businesswoman), Preisig has always valued structure and discipline outside the cockpit. When she’s not at the track, she works as a driving instructor—because teaching people how to handle a car properly is basically her version of a coffee break. Her downtime includes hitting the gym, cycling, logging hours in the simulator, and occasionally hanging out with friends. Motorsport isn’t just her career; it’s her lifestyle, her training regimen, and her idea of fun. She’s described her philosophy simply: enjoying motorsport together is what it’s all about.

EARLY SUCCESS

Preisig made her senior racing debut in 2012 with a guest appearance in the Chevrolet Cruze Cup, stepping up from karting into saloon car racing with the kind of confidence that suggested she’d been doing it for years. By 2015, she was competing in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring, where she scored her first podium finish in October of that year. It was a breakthrough moment—she was the only woman in the field, and she stood on the podium like she belonged there. Because she did. In 2016, at just 23 years old, she joined the ADAC TCR Germany series driving an Opel Astra TCR—a 330-horsepower beast that she commanded with precision and aggression. The press called her “hard but fair,” which in racing terms is basically a compliment and a warning rolled into one.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2015: First podium finish in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring, becoming the only woman in the field to do so[1].
  • 2016: Competed in the ADAC TCR Germany series with an Opel Astra TCR; became a VW brand ambassador in Switzerland[2].
  • 2021: Finished third in the 24H TCE Series – TCR championship with Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing, securing 112 points[3].
  • 2022: Earned second place in the TCR class at the Hankook 12H Kuwait with Wolf-Power Racing, overcoming crashes and technical failures with what teammates called “unbelievable perseverance”[4].
  • 2022: Took victory in the TCE category at the 12H of Hockenheimring[5].
  • 2023: Won the TCR class at the 24H Barcelona—her career-high achievement to date[6].
  • 2023: Secured fourth consecutive TCE Ladies Cup victory at the 24H Series European Championship finale[7].
  • 2024: Competed in the all-female “Girls Only” team at the 24h Nürburgring with Giti Tire, alongside drivers Carrie Schreiner and Ronja Assmann and an all-female pit crew[8].
  • 2025: Secured two victories in one weekend at the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in September[9].
  • Career totals: 9 wins and 26 podium finishes across 85 races entered[10].

INSPIRATIONS

Her father, Walter Preisig, remains her biggest influence. Growing up watching him race and hearing him talk about motorsport didn’t just spark her interest—it ignited a full-blown obsession. His deep passion for racing became hers, and the bond they share over the sport has been a constant source of motivation throughout her career. She’s spoken about how motorsport was always present in her household, shaping not just her career ambitions but her entire identity.

REPUTATION

Preisig has built a reputation as a driver who doesn’t quit—ever. Whether it’s fighting through technical gremlins in the desert heat of Kuwait or muscling a TCR car through the chaos of a 24-hour endurance race, she’s known for her relentless perseverance and racecraft. She’s been praised by teammates and competitors alike as a hard but fair racer, someone who respects the battle but never backs down from it. Her ability to stay composed under pressure—whether it’s during a high-speed crash at Hockenheim in 2017 that required an airlift to the hospital, or a last-lap fight for a podium—has earned her respect in a sport that doesn’t hand it out lightly. And as one of the few women consistently competing in touring car and endurance racing, she’s become a role model without ever making a big deal about it. She just shows up, races hard, and lets the results speak.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Preisig continues to compete in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie with Max Kruse Racing, piloting an Audi RS3 in the NLS Light category as of 2025. She’s also been active in the 24H Series and other endurance events, consistently pushing for more wins and podiums. Her focus remains on endurance racing, where strategy, stamina, and racecraft matter as much as raw speed—and where she’s proven time and again that she’s one of the best in the business.
