Kenzie's bio:

Kenzie Pierce is a young compressed air supercharging drag racer who’s been turning heads piloting her Chevy Colorado to wins across multiple formats, proving that age is just a number when you’ve got horsepower and guts.

EARLY YEARS

Growing up in Sparta, Illinois, Kenzie was a multi-sport athlete at Sparta High School, competing in softball, basketball, and volleyball[1]. She ranked 4th in the Cahokia-Illinois region with 3 home runs in softball[2]. But while she excelled on the field and court, it was the family garage—and the family business of going fast—that would ultimately capture her heart. With her mom Tina Pierce already making waves in drag racing since 2009 and her connection to the legendary dirt late model racing Pierce family (Bobby Pierce is a cousin), speed was literally in the DNA[3][4].

OTHER INTERESTS

Beyond the track, Kenzie has proven herself handy with more than just a steering wheel. She’s developed welding skills, documented on the family’s YouTube channel as she worked on various racing projects[5]. The Pierce family shares their racing adventures—and misadventures—through their popular YouTube channel, giving fans an inside look at what it takes to compete at this level. It’s not all throttle and glory; there’s fabrication, late nights in the shop, and a whole lot of problem-solving[6].

EARLY SUCCESS

At just 16 years old, Kenzie was already making serious noise in drag racing, piloting a compressed air supercharged Chevy Colorado that would become her signature ride[7]. Unlike traditional supercharging systems, compressed air supercharging (CAS)—developed by Mark Griffin and his team—offered a unique approach to making power. The Pierce family, always willing to try something different, partnered with Compressed Air Supercharging to develop Kenzie’s single-system combination[8]. The gamble paid off. Racing alongside her mother became a family affair documented in countless videos titled with variations of “Tina and Kenzie making passes”—a phrase that became shorthand for watching two generations of Pierce women dominate at the strip[9].

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2024: At Rocky Mountain Race Week MegaWeek, faced Jacoby Betts in the BMF16 final round and secured the win along with a $5,000 payout, piloting her compressed air supercharged Colorado[10].
  • 2024: Won both days of racing at a weekend event, bringing home double victories in her truck[11].
  • 2025: Ran 8.75 at Women of Power event with her new single-system Compressed Air Supercharging combination[12].
  • Listed among the all-time fastest female drag racing pickup drivers with a 9.008 at 77.33 mph in the 1/8th mile in an S-10[13].

INSPIRATIONS

It’s impossible to separate Kenzie’s racing journey from her mother Tina’s influence. Tina has been a fixture in drag racing since 2009, competing across formats from Street Outlaws and no-prep racing to radial and drag-and-drive events[14]. Watching her mom pilot an LS-powered, twin-turbo ’66 Nova running 7.30s in Ultimate Radial—and then switching to compressed air supercharging herself—gave Kenzie a front-row seat to what dedication and evolution in motorsports looks like[15]. The family’s partnership with her father David, tuner Diamond Dave, creates a team environment where success is shared and setbacks are solved together[16]. It’s racing as a family business, and that matters.

REPUTATION

Being dubbed a “Wicked Chick” racer at 16 wasn’t just about being young and female in a male-dominated sport—it was about the way Kenzie attacked the track with maturity beyond her years[17]. Her performances at major drag-and-drive events like MegaWeek showcased not just speed but consistency, the kind of racing that wins championships, not just rounds. She’s earned respect in the Mid-West Drag Racing Series community, where her trophy-making skills are as appreciated as her driving—yes, she crafts trophies for MWDRS events[18]. In the truck racing community, her place on the all-time fastest list proves she’s not just playing in the sandbox; she’s setting records[19]. And let’s be honest: rolling up with compressed air supercharging when everyone else is running turbos or traditional blowers? That takes confidence.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

With her compressed air supercharging combination continuing to evolve and improve, Kenzie appears focused on pushing the performance envelope further in 2025 and beyond. The technology is still relatively new in drag racing applications, which means there’s room for development—and room for Kenzie to be at the forefront of proving what CAS can do in competition. Watching her run 8.75s alongside her mother’s runs suggests the Pierce women are far from done making passes together[20].
