People say I drive like a girl… thank you! Because girls drive with passion, precision, and a pinch of madness.
Mira Erda is a pioneering Indian female racing driver who broke barriers by becoming the first Indian woman to compete in the Euro JK Series, establishing herself as one of India’s most prominent motorsport figures.
EARLY YEARS
Born on March 18, 2000, in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, Mira’s journey into motorsports began unexpectedly in a city known more for its cultural heritage than racing. At age 9, her father Mehul Erda introduced her to karting during a family outing, sparking a passion that would define her future. Despite Gujarat’s limited racing infrastructure, her parents enrolled her at a local karting track, where her natural talent quickly became evident.
EARLY SUCCESS
By age 13, Mira won her first national karting championship, a pivotal moment that confirmed her racing abilities. Her early development required tremendous commitment, often traveling 200 km to Ahmedabad for practice sessions while balancing her academic responsibilities. Against financial constraints and social skepticism about girls in motorsports, her family’s dedication remained unwavering—her father even sold his car to fund her first kart, laying the foundation for her historic career.

Beyond her competitive accomplishments, she’s recognized as an inspirational figure who actively mentors aspiring female drivers, working to create pathways in what has traditionally been a male-dominated sport.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Looking beyond 2025, Mira aspires to expand her international racing presence by targeting entry into higher-tier categories such as F4 UAE or Euroformula Open. She plans to establish formal mentorship programs for young female drivers through partnerships with NGOs and motorsport academies, focusing on creating sustainable pathways for women in racing.
