I was hesitant at first. I really just liked going to watch him (husband), but eventually I gave in and he hasn’t gotten me out of the car ever since!

Tina Pierce is a fearless drag racer who earned the title “Fastest Chick in Oklahoma” and became a standout on Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws, proving she belongs in the fast lane with compressed air supercharging, an ’08 Chevy Colorado, and zero tolerance for being underestimated.

EARLY YEARS

When Tina was eight years old, her parents bought her a motorcycle—and she rode it as fast as she could to keep up with her older brother and his friends[1]. That early taste of speed stuck. By the time she was old enough to drive, she’d already figured out what mattered: going fast. Her first cool car was a ’91 Mustang, and from there, it was only a matter of time before she ended up under the hood for real[2].

Residing just outside of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Pierce became a wife, mother, and diehard drag racer—because apparently one full-time job wasn’t enough[3]. She and her husband David own a repair shop, and both spend a lot of time under the hood, working on the cars they race together[4]. Thunder Valley Raceway became her proving ground, and she spent years there earning respect one pass at a time.

OTHER INTERESTS

Beyond racing, Tina is deeply involved in her family’s racing operation alongside her husband David and their daughter Kenzie, who has also begun winning races in her own right[5]. The Pierces work as a team—building engines, testing setups, and traveling to events together with David often serving as co-pilot during drag-and-drive competitions[6]. Their repair shop isn’t just a business; it’s the home base where they rebuild, innovate, and prep their fleet of race vehicles, often with help from close friends in the racing community[7].

EARLY SUCCESS

Pierce didn’t waste time proving herself. In 2010, she was named Thunder Valley Raceway Transition Racer of the Year[8]. The following year, she won the 6.50 Index class at Ardmore Drag Way and took home the 10.00 Index class title, solidifying her place as a serious competitor[9]. She originally raced with a few of the Street Outlaws guys, including Derek, and eventually met Big Chief (Justin Shearer) and Farm Truck (Sean Whitley), which opened the door to her television career[10]. By the time she landed a spot on Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws, she’d already earned her stripes on Oklahoma’s street racing scene and was holding down the No. 10 spot on The List as gatekeeper[11].

Pierce had to sit out Season 3 of Street Outlaws OKC due to pregnancy, but that didn’t slow her momentum for long[12]. She came back fiercer than ever, continuing to compete and build her reputation both on TV and on the track.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2010: Named Thunder Valley Raceway Transition Racer of the Year[8].
  • 2011: Won the 6.50 Index class at Ardmore Drag Way[9].
  • 2011: Won the 10.00 Index class[9].
  • 2017: Outlaw Armageddon Truck Champion[13].
  • 2018: Rocky Mountain Race Week ProStreet Champion[13].
  • 2018: Rocky Mountain Race Week Overall Champion, taking home the big money with a low 8-second average in her Chevy Colorado[14].
  • 2025: Featured in Drag Illustrated’s Women of Power issue for her leadership, racing success, and mentorship in motorsports[15].

INSPIRATIONS

Pierce’s drive to go fast started with chasing her older brother and his friends on that childhood motorcycle[1]. The need to keep up—and eventually pass them—shaped her competitive spirit. Her husband David has been her partner in every sense, working side by side with her in their shop and on the track, while her daughter Kenzie is following in her tire tracks, winning races and carrying forward the family legacy[5][16].

REPUTATION

Tina Pierce is known as “The Fastest Chick in Oklahoma,” a title she earned through relentless dedication and raw skill[17]. She’s respected not just for her speed but for her willingness to get her hands dirty—most of the rebuilds on her cars are handled by her and David at their shop[7]. She’s competed in everything from no-prep street racing to radial racing, drag-and-drive events, and Top Sportsman, adapting and excelling across formats[18]. Her LS-powered, twin-turbo ’66 Nova runs 7.30s, and she’s piloted it through grueling multi-day events like Motion Raceworks Mega Week[6][19].

Pierce isn’t afraid of a fight—or a crash. She survived a frightening wall-jumping crash during an IHRA event at State Capitol Raceway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, walking away uninjured and ready to get back behind the wheel[20][21]. That kind of grit has made her a fan favorite and a role model for women entering the sport.

In an effort to boost performance, Pierce teamed up with Compressed Air Supercharging and owner Mark Griffin, pioneering the use of compressed air supercharging (CAS) technology on her 509 cubic inch big block Chevy-powered Top Sportsman truck[22][23]. The setup has turned heads at major events and showcases her willingness to innovate and experiment with cutting-edge tech.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Tina’s sights are set on continuing to chase the points battle in the Mid-West Drag Racing Series (MWDRS) Top Sportsman class in 2025, piloting her ’08 Chevy Colorado[24][25]. She’s focused on consistency and competition, knowing that in Top Sportsman, “you’re running the same number. The track is really all you’re fighting”[26]. Fans can expect to see her at upcoming MWDRS events throughout the season, continuing to push the limits of her compressed air supercharged truck.
