FULL BIO: Yana Loeman
Belgian racer Yana Loeman proves that sometimes the best routes to the top aren’t the obvious ones—after ditching expensive karting for more accessible racing categories, she’s carved out a name for herself in endurance racing while building a social media following that shows the real side of being a woman in motorsports.
EARLY YEARS
Like many racers, Yana’s story started with karting as a kid—the classic gateway drug to four wheels and speed. But unlike the trust fund babies who seamlessly transition from go-karts to Formula cars, she hit a wall that’s all too familiar: money. The costs of competitive karting forced her to step back, but instead of giving up entirely, she did something smart. At around age 20, she reached out to established racers Stienes and Bert Longin for guidance, proving that sometimes the best move is admitting you need help and actually asking for it.
OTHER INTERESTS
Before she was throwing cars around racetracks, Yana was throwing punches and kicks in the dojo. She spent a decade training in Thai boxing and Budokai, which explains a lot about her competitive edge and mental toughness—qualities that translate beautifully from martial arts to motorsports. The discipline required to master combat sports for ten years doesn’t just disappear when you switch to racing; it becomes part of your DNA. She’s also carved out a significant presence on TikTok with over 11,200 followers, where she shares the real, unfiltered experience of being a woman trying to make it in racing—no glossy PR nonsense, just authentic storytelling about the journey.
EARLY SUCCESS
When the Longin connection led her to QSR—a more affordable racing platform—Yana found her entry point back into competitive motorsports. This wasn’t just about finding cheaper racing; it was about finding the right racing for her situation. The transition from QSR to endurance racing, particularly the demanding 24 Hours of Zolder, showed she could handle the physical and mental challenges of long-distance competition. Her early appearances in the BMW M4 GT4 demonstrated she had the pace and consistency needed for endurance racing’s unique demands.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2024: Won TC class at the 46th edition of 24 Hours of Zolder driving for IC Motorsport by CCP[1].
- 2024: Secured class podium finish at 24 Hours of Zolder in BMW M4 GT4 (#45 car)[2].
INSPIRATIONS
Her mentors Stienes and Bert Longin played crucial roles in redirecting her career when karting became financially unfeasible, showing her that there are multiple paths to racing success. The experience of having to find alternative routes into motorsports seems to have shaped her approach—she’s not waiting for opportunities to come to her, she’s actively creating them and sharing that process with others who might be in similar situations.
REPUTATION
Media coverage consistently portrays Yana as a “race star in the making,” and her 2024 class victory at Zolder made her one of only two female drivers to claim wins at that prestigious endurance event. She’s positioning herself as more than just a fast driver—she’s becoming an ambassador for accessible motorsports and inspiration for others facing similar financial or logistical challenges. Her television appearance on Belgium’s “Amai zeg wauw!” program reinforced her role as someone willing to share her story to inspire others, while her active social media presence shows she understands the importance of building a personal brand alongside racing success.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
While specific 2025 plans haven’t been publicly detailed, her continued involvement with BMW M4 GT4 machinery and teams like IC Motorsport by CCP suggests she’s building a sustainable career in endurance racing. Her growing social media platform indicates she’s likely to continue using her visibility to promote women in motorsports while developing her own racing career.
