Video Description from YouTube:
At 9 years old, she wanted to race cars — so she found a way to pay for it herself.
By making and selling ceramic dolls, Cheryl Linn Glass funded her way onto the track in a sport that isn’t easy to break into.
She went on to become Rookie of the Year in her first season, a five-time state and regional champion and one of the first Black female professional racing drivers in the United States.
Competing in over 100 races, her goal was always clear — to reach the Indianapolis 500 and beyond.
But her story isn’t just about racing.
It’s about determination, resilience and finding your own way into a space that doesn’t always make room for you.
Cheryl Linn Glass passed away in 1997 at just 35 years old, but her legacy continues to inspire a new generation to push boundaries and chase what once felt out of reach.
