After a less-than-stellar performance at Marshalltown on Tuesday, we went back to work in the shop. A big thank you to the Kays for allowing us to use their workspace to make some changes.

We headed to Maquoketa on Thursday and used our first session to try a better front-end setup. During the second session, we made some changes to the rear of the car and found improvements there as well.

By race time on Friday, we realized we were still lacking some speed, so we went back to simpler adjustments. In Friday night’s feature, I drove from 22nd to 14th and finally felt like the car was more balanced. Poor pill draws both nights put us toward the back of our qualifying heat races, making us work for everything we could get.

Saturday’s feature became pretty lane-dependent, and once everyone settled into the preferred line, we found ourselves stuck in the same position for most of the race. Overall, it was a week of learning, making changes, and continuing to work toward getting the car where we want it.
