• JAMIE CHADWICK delivered another statement drive at Spa, launching from sixth to battle at the front all race long in her rookie LMP2 campaign. Starting the race herself, she made a brilliant launch to jump to fifth at La Source and ran consistent 2:03.8 laps while fending off pressure. Despite multiple safety car interruptions cutting her stint short, her pace was excellent before handing over to teammates who maintained the charge to cross the line second overall.
• The feel-good story turned into heartbreak when race officials slapped the #18 IDEC Sport Oreca with a three-minute penalty for entering pit lane after an FCY announcement. That cruel decision dropped what should have been another podium celebration down to P12, completely outside the points. It’s the kind of technicality that makes you wonder if officials would be quite so harsh on more established names in the paddock.
• Even with this setback, CHADWICK sits third in the championship on 50 points, just 26 behind the leaders with half the season remaining. Her rookie year continues to prove she belongs at this level, having already secured back-to-back wins early in the season. Next up is Silverstone, where her extensive track knowledge should give the team a real advantage as they look to get their title challenge back on track.
