GRRL! SUMMARY:
- The Iron Dames trio of CÉLIA MARTIN, SARAH BOVY, and MICHELLE GATTING delivered another masterclass in endurance racing at Spa, running in the top three for most of the 4-hour race before fuel strategy forced a late splash-and-dash that dropped them to fourth. Martin earned yet another Goodyear Wingfoot Award for most valuable driver, while her aggressive opening stint saw her slice through the field from fifth to the LMGT3 lead within the first hour.
- BOVY showed exactly why she belongs among the series elite, holding her ground as one of the few silver-rated drivers battling pros in the top positions. Running consistent 2:21 lap times while managing LMP3 traffic perfectly, she kept the team in podium contention during her stint. Her post-race confidence says it all: “We’re still fighting for that championship!” – and with their flawless execution, they absolutely are.
- GATTING’s final stint was pure clutch performance, setting the team’s fastest lap of 2:20.097 while charging from eighth back to fourth in the closing hour. The championship math couldn’t be tighter – Iron Dames sit just one point behind the leaders with their second-place standing intact. After bouncing back from a difficult Imola round, this consistent podium-worthy pace proves they’re the real deal in this title fight heading to Silverstone.
