GRRL! SUMMARY:
- F1 Academy just dropped their most important announcement yet – 18 female drivers aged 15-21, including LAURA BOURGUET, ZOE FLORESCU POTOLEA, and MICHALINA SABAJ, have been selected for the series’ first rookie test at Circuito de Navarra on September 17-18. This isn’t just another test day; it’s a direct pipeline to 2026 grid spots.
- Here’s what makes this brilliant: identical conditions, same equipment, six hours of track time for everyone. No excuses, no variables – just pure talent evaluation. The 18 rookies will also get the full team experience, sitting in on briefings and engineering sessions alongside research-backed performance assessments from More than Equal.
- The cognitive and physical testing isn’t just for show – it’s building an evidence base on female driver performance that could reshape how we develop talent. When current F1 Academy drivers also participate in these assessments, we’re looking at data that will inform long-term strategies for supporting women throughout their racing careers.
