GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Bulgaria’s ALEXANDRA VATEVA delivered exactly what we love to see – a driver making the most of her opportunity. In her very first Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland appearance, she grabbed second place in the Rookies class at the Red Bull Ring. While the boys were busy sorting out their championship drama up front, VATEVA quietly got on with business.
- The rookie battle gave us more drama than the main event, with Sacha Norden extending his stranglehold on the class with his seventh win of the season. His teammate Joseph Warhurst’s retirement opened the door for VATEVA to step up, and she didn’t waste the chance. Sometimes racing is about being ready when opportunity knocks.
- Up front, the usual suspects played it safe – Robert de Haan managed his tires like a veteran to hold off Alessandro Ghiretti’s challenge, with both safety car periods adding spice to an otherwise processional affair. But the real story was happening further back, where VATEVA showed that talent travels and debuts don’t have to be learning experiences.
