While Dacia’s title hopes rest primarily on Al-Attiyah and Loeb, Gutiérrez has the machinery to make noise in the Ultimate category’s 17-car points battle.
• VALENTINA PERTEGARINI sits pretty defending her commanding 49-point lead in the Challenger navigators’ championship, co-driving for Nicolas Cavigliasso who holds his own 31-point advantage. The Argentine duo wheels out a Taurus T3 Max against 11 other Challenger entries, though only eight are registered for W2RC points in what’s become a thin field.
• DANIA AKEEL switches up her usual partnership, teaming with Brazilian Carlos Sachs instead of regular co-pilot Stéphane Duplé as she chases down the Challenger points leaders. The Saudi driver runs a BBR Motorsport Taurus T3 Max and needs to close serious ground on both Cavigliasso and Spain’s Pau Navarro in the championship fight.
