GRRL! SUMMARY:
- The Racing for Women initiative brought together MARGAUX VERZA, EMILIE VILLA, and AGATHE MOIRET in an all-female lineup that scored second place in class at Magny-Cours’ Ultimate Cup round. What started as a breast cancer awareness campaign became something bigger – proving that when you give talented women the right opportunity and support, they deliver on track. The trio’s debut weekend exceeded expectations, combining competitive racing with meaningful advocacy for Pink October.
- Each driver brought serious credentials to the effort: VERZA’s Alpine and Porsche experience showed in her mature opening stint management, VILLA’s GT4 and single-seater background proved crucial in qualifying and the closing stint, while MOIRET stepped up from Mitjet to set the team’s fastest lap on her endurance debut. This wasn’t charity racing – it was three accomplished drivers getting a platform to showcase what they could do when properly supported by sponsors like Lemer Pax and Groupe SF.
- The weekend’s highlight came when MOIRET topped the class timesheets in Q2 with a 1:50.643 lap, then backed it up with consistent 1:51s during her double stint in the four-hour race. Her mistake-free performance on her first endurance outing at this level silenced any doubts about the team’s competitive credentials. Meanwhile, VILLA’s closing stint under increasingly challenging conditions showed the professionalism that earned her the 2022 Racing Pride scholarship.
- Beyond the podium celebration, this initiative represents what happens when motorsport gets it right – combining competitive opportunity with meaningful purpose. The fundraising campaign for Persévérance and Jeune & Rose continues through October, but the real victory was proving that all-female lineups belong on any grid when given proper support. We need more programs like this that create pathways rather than just photo opportunities.
