Dakota's bio:

Dakota Jane is a British motorsports presenter and pit lane reporter who built her career in the high-octane world of GT racing, spending her weekends running up and down the pitlane in the Blancpain GT Series before most people even knew her name.

EARLY YEARS

Long before she became a fixture in the GT racing world, Dakota Jane lived and breathed motorsport—before she even acknowledged to herself that this was the path she was meant to take. Growing up British with an all-consuming love for anything with four wheels and an engine, she harbored what she describes as “a secret racing driver within myself.” It wasn’t just about watching from the sidelines; the obsession ran deeper than that. Cars weren’t a hobby—they were the entire point.

OTHER INTERESTS

From 2017 to early 2020, Dakota Jane took a detour into modeling, focused on creating a career for herself in front of the camera. But the pivot didn’t last. After working with countless photographers and realizing the creative itch wasn’t being scratched the way she needed it to be, she shifted gears entirely—into directing. The move made sense for someone who’s always had a strong visual eye and a need to control the narrative. But even then, motorsport kept calling her back.

EARLY SUCCESS

Her journey into motorsports broadcasting began when she presented the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, a one-make series that ran as a support race to the SRO Blancpain GT Series. That gig cracked the door wide open. Before long, she was working predominantly in the Blancpain GT series itself, spending entire weekends embedded in the chaos of the pitlane. The job required her to be everywhere at once—tracking teams, understanding driver histories, keeping up with ever-changing situations on and off the track. She loved it. The constantly shifting nature of GT racing suited her perfectly. Unlike the more buttoned-up world of Formula 1, GT racing was raw, unpredictable, and demanded that she think on her feet. She thrived in that environment.

Her preparation was meticulous. Before every race weekend, she’d research drivers—digging into their previous career highlights and current situations—study team histories and setups, and get deep into the series rules and regulations. She wasn’t just showing up with a microphone. She was showing up informed, sharp, and ready to ask the questions that mattered.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2017-2020: Pursued a modeling career before transitioning to directing[1].
  • 2017-Present: Worked as a presenter and pit lane reporter for the Blancpain GT Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo[2].
  • Became an Ambassador for the Sean Edwards Foundation, promoting safety in motorsport[3].
  • Served as a pit lane reporter alongside her husband during the Lamborghini World Finals in Misano[4].

INSPIRATIONS

As a woman working in a male-dominated field, Dakota Jane felt it was important to align herself with initiatives that supported other women trying to break into motorsport. She became involved with “Dare to be Different,” the campaign launched by former Williams F1 test driver Susie Wolff aimed at increasing female participation and visibility in racing. Her advice to women trying to pursue careers in motorsport? “Don’t be discouraged by men.” She’s blunt about it: women have just as fair a shot as anyone else, and the key is to not let anyone convince you otherwise.

REPUTATION

Dakota Jane is known as a presenter who loves traveling, cars, and the unpredictable rhythm of race weekends. She’s built a reputation for being thorough, personable, and unshakably passionate about motorsport. Colleagues and fans recognize her not just for her on-camera work, but for her genuine enthusiasm and her willingness to champion safety and inclusivity in the sport. Her work with the Sean Edwards Foundation, where she delivers safety messages reminding drivers about everything from fireproof underwear to the broader ethos that “safety is a race we can all win,” has cemented her as someone who cares about the people behind the helmets, not just the spectacle on track.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Her ambition is to work at some of the biggest GT racing events on the planet—places like the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Daytona 24 Hours, the FIA Macau GT World Cup, and other marquee endurance and GT races that represent the pinnacle of the sport. She’s already proven she can handle the intensity of top-tier series racing; now it’s about getting to the events that the entire motorsport world tunes in to watch.
