We broke a boundary that was a bit taboo, let’s say. And now we’ve created a pathway and opportunities for many girls behind us.
Hamda Al Qubaisi is a trailblazing Emirati racing driver who has broken barriers in motorsport, becoming the first woman to score a podium in the Italian F4 Championship while representing her country on international racing circuits.
EARLY YEARS
Born into a family with deep motorsport connections, Hamda is the daughter of Khaled Al Qubaisi, an accomplished Emirati businessman and racer who competed in Porsche Supercup and World Endurance Championship. Despite initial resistance from her father about his daughters entering the male-dominated sport, Hamda began karting at age 12, quickly showing remarkable improvement from being nearly lapped in her first race to winning by the end of her first championship season.
EARLY SUCCESS
In 2015, Hamda entered the world of motorsports and rapidly demonstrated her natural talent. By 2017, she secured a 3rd place finish in the IAME X30 Championships, establishing herself as a promising talent. Her career accelerated in 2019 when she made her debut in Italian F4 with Abu Dhabi Racing by Prema team, competing alongside her sister Amna. The following year proved pivotal as Hamda claimed three victories in the UAE F4 championship and finished 4th overall in the Formula 4 UAE series with six podium finishes.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2017: Achieved 3rd place finish in the IAME X30 Championships.

- 2023: Totalled four victories, four additional podiums, and took two pole positions in Zandvoort in the F1 Academy season.
REPUTATION
Hamda has established herself as a formidable competitor and inspirational figure in motorsports, particularly for women in the Middle East. Her resilience was prominently displayed when she returned to racing after suffering a shattered arm in a 2023 UAE Formula 4 accident, defying recovery expectations to secure victory in F1 Academy competition. As one of the pioneering Arab women in professional racing, she has broken barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport, becoming a role model for aspiring female racers throughout the region and beyond.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
For 2025, Hamda is set to return to Formula 4, having signed with AKCEL GP x PHM Racing to compete in the rebranded F4 Middle East Championship. After representing Red Bull Racing in 2024 and being part of the Red Bull Academy Programme, she aims to leverage her experience to achieve greater success in the upcoming seasons. Her long-term aspirations include continuing to inspire future generations of female motorsport enthusiasts while pushing boundaries at the highest levels of racing.
