Lily's bio:

Lily Whynot is a rising Canadian Bandolero and Legends car racer from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, who’s been making noise on both sides of the border—claiming a 2025 INEX Outlaws state championship and proving she belongs on any track she touches.

EARLY YEARS

Racing isn’t just in Lily Whynot’s blood—it’s the family business. She’s the granddaughter of Mark Whynot, a multi-time Hobby Stock Champion who set the bar high before she ever climbed into a car[1]. Growing up in Nova Scotia’s tight-knit motorsports community, Whynot watched her grandfather dominate local tracks and learned early that being fast wasn’t enough—you had to be consistent, smart, and fearless.

She started competing in INEX Bandolero racing, the entry-level class designed for young drivers looking to cut their teeth on real racetracks. For Whynot, it was less about easing in and more about proving she could hang with anyone. Nova Scotia’s Scotia Speedworld became her home base, where she quickly established herself as a threat in the Bandolero Outlaw division[2].

OTHER INTERESTS

Information about Lily Whynot’s interests outside of racing is not currently available.

EARLY SUCCESS

Whynot didn’t wait long to show what she could do. By 2023, she was already earning recognition at Petty International Raceway, where she competed in special Women of Wheels events designed to celebrate female racers[3]. She wasn’t there to make up the numbers—she was there to win.

The 2024 season saw her hitting her stride. Whynot competed regularly at Scotia Speedworld and began traveling to INEX National events in the United States, expanding her experience and race craft[1]. She finished the year ranked 25th in the INEX national Bandolero points standings, a solid result that signaled she was ready for more[4].

Her breakthrough came in 2025. Racing the No. 2 Bandolero at Scotia Speedworld, Whynot became a weekly fixture at the front of the field. The season opener saw her rally back from a mid-race spin to claim a podium finish—a gutsy drive that set the tone for what was to come[5]. Throughout the summer, she racked up strong finishes, including a runner-up result in a heat race during Fan Appreciation Night at Oyster Bed Speedway in Prince Edward Island, where she also notched her first career podium finish at the track[6].

By September, she was in the thick of the championship hunt. At the Halifax 300, one of Scotia Speedworld’s marquee events, Whynot won her heat race and finished second in the feature—cementing her status as one of the division’s best[7].

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2025: INEX Outlaws State Champion[8]
  • 2025: Oyster Bed Speedway Award Winner[9]
  • 2025: Heat race winner at Scotia Speedworld Halifax 300[7]
  • 2025: Competed in INEX Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway, Florida[10]
  • 2024: Ranked 25th in INEX national Bandolero points[4]

INSPIRATIONS

While Lily Whynot hasn’t publicly discussed specific racing heroes, it’s clear her grandfather Mark Whynot’s championship legacy has been a driving force. Growing up watching him win shaped her understanding of what it takes to succeed—and what it means to represent the Whynot name on track[1].

REPUTATION

Whynot has earned a reputation as a racer who doesn’t back down. Whether she’s battling for the lead or recovering from a mistake, she keeps her foot in it. Her willingness to travel stateside for INEX National events shows ambition beyond just winning locally—she wants to race the best, wherever they are[1].

At Scotia Speedworld, she’s become a fan favorite, regularly featured in the track’s promotional materials celebrating Women in Motorsports[11]. Her competitors respect her for her racecraft and her ability to run clean while running hard. The fact that she can bounce back from a spin and still land on the podium tells you everything about her mental toughness[5].

Tracks across the Maritimes know her name now. At Oyster Bed Speedway, she’s proven she can adapt quickly to new circuits, running competitively in only her second-ever start there and earning hardware to show for it[6][9].

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

With a state championship under her belt and a growing reputation across Eastern Canada and the United States, Whynot is positioned to make the jump to more competitive divisions. Whether that means stepping up to Legends cars or continuing to dominate Bandolero racing on a bigger stage remains to be seen—but if her trajectory so far is any indication, she’s not interested in standing still.
