Patrycja Sowa is a 19-year-old Polish motorcycle racer from Chocznia, near Wadowice, who’s been tearing up European circuits and just secured a coveted spot on the 2026 FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship grid with Team Trasimeno—making her one of only two Polish women to crack the 24-rider roster.
EARLY YEARS
The daughter of motorcyclist Piotr Sowa, Patrycja caught the racing bug early thanks to her dad’s passion for two wheels. She first hit the track at age 11, starting out on a pitbike under her father’s watchful eye before progressing to formal training with a Czech instructor. By 12, she was already carving lines on proper race circuits, displaying the kind of fearlessness that would become her trademark.
Growing up in the rolling hills near Wadowice, she didn’t have the luxury of a massive Polish racing infrastructure—so she looked beyond her borders. The family commitment was total: countless hours on the road to tracks across Central Europe, learning racecraft from wherever she could find it, and building a foundation that would serve her well in the testosterone-heavy world of motorcycle racing.
OTHER INTERESTS
Patrycja has stated that motorcycles and racing cars are her overwhelming passion, admitting she “doesn’t see the world beyond them.” The track isn’t just where she works—it’s where she lives mentally, even when she’s not riding. That single-minded focus has been both her strength and her identity.
EARLY SUCCESS
Sowa turned professional in 2021 at just 15 years old, and immediately proved she belonged. That same year, she became the only Polish woman competing in the Women’s European Championship, racing at Misano and holding her own against more experienced riders. The teenager was routinely hitting speeds of 180 km/h, and more importantly, she was consistently landing on podiums.
What set her apart wasn’t just speed—it was consistency. While other young riders flashed brilliance then faded, Patrycja built her reputation on relentless podium appearances across multiple series. She raced in five different championships simultaneously, including the Alpe Adria European Championship, Women’s European Championship, FIM Europe Cup, and the Slovakian and Czech national championships. The workload would crush most riders; she thrived on it.
By 18, she’d earned the title of Poland’s fastest female motorcycle racer—a distinction that had been vacant for years.

- 2022: Vice-Champion, Czech Championship[3]
- 2024: Vice-Champion, Women’s European Championship[4]

INSPIRATIONS
Her father, Piotr Sowa, is the obvious answer—he introduced her to motorcycles and provided the foundation. But the broader inspiration seems to be the bikes themselves and the freedom they represent. Patrycja isn’t racing to prove a point about gender; she’s racing because nothing else makes sense to her. The Czech instructor who trained her early on also played a pivotal role in shaping her technical skills and competitive mindset.
REPUTATION
Within the European women’s racing community, Sowa has earned respect for her work ethic and her ability to juggle multiple championship campaigns without losing focus. She’s known as a podium regular—someone who shows up, does the work, and consistently finishes near the front. Polish media has dubbed her the fastest Polish woman in motorcycle racing in years, a title she’s defended through sheer persistence.
Her constant presence on podiums has become her calling card. As she’s noted herself, “continuous presence on the podium is very pleasant”—an understatement that reveals both her competitive drive and her measured approach to success. She doesn’t showboat; she just wins.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
The 2026 season represents Sowa’s biggest leap yet: a World Championship debut in the WorldWCR series with Team Trasimeno. She’ll be competing against 23 other riders representing 12 nationalities, and she’s one of only two Polish women on the grid alongside Karolina Danak (Yamaha AD78 FIMLA). The season kicks off March 27-29 in Portimão, Portugal, and runs for six rounds.
At 19, she’s entering the global stage with years of European experience already banked. The goal is clear: prove she belongs among the world’s fastest women, and keep doing what she does best—landing on podiums.
