Tegan's full bio:

(last updated January 24, 2026

Tegan Hammond is a dual USA-Canada citizen of Venezuelan and Colombian heritage who holds two Bonneville land speed records and became the first female driver featured in Ferrari promotional work—all while carving out a career as one of Hollywood’s most skilled stunt drivers.

EARLY YEARS

Here’s what we know about Tegan Hammond’s beginnings: not much. And honestly? That’s kind of perfect for someone whose entire career has been about showing up and proving herself where nobody expected her.

What we do know is that she was “raised behind the wheel”—a tantalizing detail that suggests cars weren’t just a hobby in her household, they were part of the fabric of daily life. Her Venezuelan and Colombian heritage adds another layer to her story, though the specifics of how her family ended up with dual citizenship across the US and Canada remain her own business.

No childhood go-kart stories here. No tales of begging dad to let her sit in the driver’s seat at age five. Hammond’s origin story doesn’t follow the typical motorsports narrative, and that’s precisely what makes it interesting. She didn’t grow up dreaming of being a race car driver. She just ended up becoming one anyway.

OTHER INTERESTS

If you’re looking for someone who sits still, keep looking. Hammond’s idea of downtime involves activities that would send most people’s insurance premiums through the roof.

On the mountain, she’s an advanced snowboarder who thinks nothing of launching herself off 10-foot powdery cliff jumps, tackling big downhill days, threading through tree runs, and venturing out of bounds where the real fun lives. She also rock climbs, ice climbs, trail runs, and mountain bikes—because apparently, one adrenaline sport isn’t enough.

When she’s not defying gravity on land, she’s doing it underwater with her SCUBA Advanced Certification. The common thread? Control, precision, and the willingness to push limits in environments where mistakes matter.

Based in Los Angeles, she currently trains with a 1998 BMW M3—her personal stunt practice car. Because of course she has one of those just sitting around.

EARLY SUCCESS

Most people ease into racing. Maybe some karting, a few track days, working their way up. Tegan Hammond’s first time behind the wheel? A 294 MPH run at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011 that was featured on Canadian Discovery Channel.

Read that again. Her literal first time in the driver’s seat, she went 294 miles per hour.

One year later, she returned to Bonneville and clocked 302 MPH, becoming the seventh woman in the world to join the 300 MPH Club. Not the seventh American woman. The seventh woman, period. On the entire planet.

Then in 2014, friends who knew about her racing background invited her to Rick Seaman’s Level 1 stunt driving course “just for fun.” She fell hard. Bought an old BMW M3 and started training on her own, because that’s what you do when you discover your calling.

In 2015, she showed up to the Vintage Sprint Race at Santa Maria Raceway—only the second time she’d sat in a driver’s seat for actual racing. She was up against an all-male field of seasoned vintage racers in 250-horsepower machines on dirt. She won the main event.

Second. Time. In. A. Race. Car.

Some people are naturals. And then there’s whatever Tegan Hammond is.

INSPIRATIONS

Hammond hasn’t publicly discussed her influences or inspirations—no racing heroes cited, no childhood poster on the wall stories. Which feels oddly fitting for someone who seems to have written her own playbook from scratch.

REPUTATION

When Ferrari needed a driver for their 2019 488 Pista Spider commercial—the one that premiered at their pavilion at the Paris Motor Show—they chose Tegan Hammond. She became the first female driver ever featured in Ferrari’s promotional work. That’s not just a cool credit. That’s Ferrari, a brand notoriously particular about its image, saying “her” when they could have said anyone.

A biographical film described her as an “invigorating and talented” figure with an “adrenaline high that has been in her blood ever since day one.” The work speaks for itself: brands like Ford, BMW, and Mercedes keep calling. Hollywood keeps calling. She’s doubled for A-listers and worked on major productions, building a reputation as someone who can handle anything with wheels.

Being the seventh woman to drive over 300 MPH is the kind of achievement that gets remembered. But Hammond hasn’t rested on that record—she’s built an entire career on the foundation of being fearless, precise, and consistently excellent.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Hammond’s stated dream is refreshingly specific: to become a well-respected and highly sought-after professional female stunt driver for commercials and films, while creating a life where her passion for driving coexists with her love of nature, people, culture, food, and travel.

She’s already well on her way. Recent work as of March 2025 includes the Mercedes G Wagon campaign for Stay Color Blind, stunt driving double work for Jean Smart on Hacks Season 4, and serving as Ford stunt driver rally double for Eddie Braun. She continues training with her BMW M3, staying sharp between gigs.

Based in Los Angeles with her SAG-AFTRA card, valid passport, and dual citizenship making international work seamless, Hammond has positioned herself exactly where she needs to be. The racing records put her name on the map. The stunt work is building the career. And if her track record is any indication, whatever she sets her sights on next doesn’t stand a chance.
