Video Description from YouTube:
Before Hamda Al Qubaisi was competing internationally in junior formula racing, she was watching motorsport from the sidelines — inspired first by her father, Khaled Al Qubaisi, and then by her sister, Amna Al Qubaisi, who entered the sport before her.
Starting karting at the age of 12, later than many drivers in modern motorsport, Hamda questioned whether racing was the right fit for her. But after watching her sister compete, she developed a genuine passion for the sport and committed to pursuing it herself.
From karting in the UAE and Europe, she progressed into Formula 4 competition across Europe, where she continued to build experience and establish herself within junior single-seater racing. In 2021, she became the first female driver to score a podium in Italian Formula 4.
She later joined F1 Academy, finishing third overall in the inaugural 2023 season with multiple race wins before returning in 2024 and finishing fifth in the standings.
Hamda has also openly acknowledged the role her family has played in supporting and funding her career, helping provide access to opportunities within motorsport.
Her journey through karting, Formula 4, F1 Academy and the Ligier European Series reflects one example of the many different routes that can lead into motorsport today.
