John Force Racing rookie Jordan Vandergriff continued his breakout 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season by capturing his second Funny Car victory of the year at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.

After qualifying No. 1 and posting the quickest Funny Car run during eliminations, Vandergriff defeated Daniel Wilkerson in the final to move to second in the championship standings. The win further establishes the Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS driver as one of the fastest rising stars in NHRA Funny Car competition.

In Top Fuel, reigning world champion Doug Kalitta strengthened his reputation as Sonoma’s king, earning his seventh career victory at the Northern California facility. Kalitta defeated first-time finalist Jasmine Salinas while closing ground in the championship battle.

Pro Stock veteran Greg Stanfield successfully defended his Sonoma title, using a razor-sharp holeshot victory over Elite Motorsports teammate Erica Enders to secure his seventh professional win and extend Elite’s dominance at Sonoma Raceway.

The event concluded before another sellout crowd, giving NHRA three consecutive days of capacity attendance during one of the premier weekends on the 2026 schedule.
