My first motorcycle was a 140cc minimotard, I was 12 years old by then. I had my first race on that bike in a national championship which was a very important step because I was just learning how to use a geared bike.
We’ve waited years for a Championship like this. I hope young riders always fight for what they want.

Isis Carreno is a Chilean motorcycle racer who proudly represents Latin America on the world stage, competing in the historic FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship and breaking barriers as one of the region’s most accomplished female riders.
EARLY YEARS
Born December 30, 1999, in Santiago de Chile, Carreno hails from Viña del Mar and has been racing speed motorcycles for over 12 years[1]. Before fully committing to two wheels, she explored a colorful range of sports—speed skating, figure skating, roller hockey, and even cheerleading—but none ignited the same passion[2]. She made her racing debut in the Spanish speed championship in 2014, marking the beginning of a career that would take her across continents[3].
OTHER INTERESTS
When she’s not tearing up the track, Carreno is pursuing a degree in construction engineering while working alongside her father[4]. She also teaches motorcycle classes back home in Chile, passing on her skills and encouraging the next generation of riders to chase their dreams on two wheels[5]. It’s a balancing act that speaks to her grit—and her refusal to put all her eggs in one basket, no matter how fast that basket moves.
EARLY SUCCESS
From 2017 to 2019, Carreno competed in a women’s championship in Mexico, carving out her reputation in the Latin American racing scene[6]. In 2019, she participated in a Latin American championship and clinched the title, proving she had the speed and the nerve to win at the regional level[7]. That victory was her ticket back to Europe—in 2021, she returned to Italy to compete in the Women’s European Cup, racing a 400cc Kawasaki with TEAM GP3 AD11 and securing podium finishes that put her firmly on the international radar[8].
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2014: Made racing debut in Spanish speed championship[9].
- 2019: Won Latin American championship[10].
- 2021: Debuted in WorldSSP300 at Misano as a wildcard, becoming the first Latin American woman to compete in the category at the world stage[11].
- 2021–2023: Competed in SSP 300 Women’s European Championship, earning multiple podium finishes[12].
- 2024: Competed in the inaugural FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) with AD78 FIM Latinoamerica by Team GP3, finishing 12th overall in the standings[13].
- 2024: Represented Latin America at the inaugural FIM Intercontinental Games at Jerez[14].
- 2025: Returned to WorldWCR with ITALIKA Racing FIMLA (later Pons Italika Racing FIMLA), competing on a Yamaha YZF-R7[15].
- 2025: Joined Ellis Spiezia’s Electric Renegades in the eSkootr Championship, expanding her racing portfolio into electric mobility[16].
INSPIRATIONS
Carreno has been vocal about the significance of the WorldWCR, saying, “We’ve waited years for a Championship like this. I hope young riders always fight for what they want”[17]. After witnessing two of her former teammates advance their racing careers, she became even more motivated to pursue her own path at the highest level[18]. Her journey is driven by a desire to represent not just Chile, but the entire Latin American region—a responsibility she wears with pride.
REPUTATION
Known for her tenacity and consistency, Carreno has built a reputation as a steady competitor who refuses to back down. Racing on identical Yamaha YZF-R7 machinery in WorldWCR alongside some of the fastest women in the world, she’s proven she belongs[19]. Her appearance at the 2021 Misano WorldSBK round as a wildcard was a historic moment—she became the first Latin American woman to compete in WorldSSP300 at the world level, a feat that earned her recognition and respect far beyond her home continent[20]. She’s not the flashiest rider on the grid, but she’s one of the most determined, and that’s earned her a loyal following.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
For 2025 and beyond, Carreno continues her campaign in WorldWCR with Pons Italika Racing FIMLA, aiming to climb the standings and secure stronger finishes[21]. She’s also racing in the eSkootr Championship with Electric Renegades, a bold pivot that showcases her willingness to embrace new racing formats and technologies[22]. Her dual focus signals ambition: she’s not content to stay in one lane, and she’s determined to make her mark across multiple disciplines while continuing to inspire young riders—especially young women—back in Latin America.
