My story is a little messy… I didn’t know even how to turn the wheel… My dad just bought me a kart and we were training in a circuit… Now that karting is my life and I don’t know where I would be without it, my dad is also excited for me.
Being aware of it is the first major step towards change. I’ve been working on it, I think I’m getting better and I will not stop working until that turns out as a strength and not a weakness.

FULL BIO: Laura Camps
Laura Camps is a Spanish racing driver who burst onto the international motorsport scene after winning the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars program in 2021, earning her a coveted spot in the Ferrari Driver Academy. This promising talent from Catalonia has quickly evolved from karting champion to car racing competitor, making her debut in the Indian Racing League with Hyderabad Blackbirds in 2023.
EARLY YEARS
Born March 28, 2005, in Calella, Spain, Laura Camps Torras discovered motorsport through a rather unremarkable first experience at a rental karting track when she was eight or nine years old. What transformed everything was her father’s decision to enroll her in a beginner karting program in Catalunya shortly after—despite having zero driving experience. Her father became her coach and biggest supporter, even creating a karting club to nurture her development. By age 10, Laura was training seriously on local circuits with her first kart, purchased by her determined father who had been inspired by Michael Schumacher’s racing legacy.
OTHER INTERESTS
Information about Laura’s interests outside of motorsport remains largely private, though she has become an advocate for increasing accessibility for women in racing through various media appearances and interviews.
EARLY SUCCESS
Laura’s breakthrough moment came in October 2020 when she scored her first karting victory at the Valencian Karting Championship at Lucas Guerrero de Chiva International Circuit. This win marked the beginning of her rapid ascent through Spanish karting ranks. The COVID-19 pandemic proved to be an unexpected turning point—with limited racing opportunities, she shifted focus to the KZ karting category and experienced dramatic improvement in speed and competitiveness. Her performances in the Spanish Championship (CEK) with Faluga Racing caught international attention, leading to competition in prestigious series like the WSK Super Masters Series.
