Macie's bio:

Macie Gordon is a skilled drag racer, engine builder, and car chief who has carved out her own lane in NHRA competition while being an essential force behind her family’s racing operation.

EARLY YEARS

Born on December 1st, Macie grew up in Paso Robles, California, immersed in drag racing from day one. Her father, Doug Gordon, is a three-time NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car world champion, and her grandfather, Mike Gordon, raced TAFC for seven years. Racing wasn’t just the family business—it was the family DNA. Macie and her older sister Maddi started racing junior dragsters when they were just eight years old, introduced to the sport by their dad who knew exactly what he was doing when he handed them the keys[1][2].

OTHER INTERESTS

While attending Templeton High School, Macie proved she could do it all. She was a Link Crew leader and mentor, an athlete who played volleyball, and maintained outstanding grades throughout[3]. When she wasn’t at the track, you could find her doing CrossFit, hanging out with friends and family, or—surprise—working on race cars[4]. She was recognized by her school for her kindness, which is exactly the kind of thing that happens when you’re talented enough to intimidate everyone but nice enough that they can’t help but root for you anyway[3].

EARLY SUCCESS

Macie dominated junior drag racing from the start, competing in over 100 Junior Drag Racing events alongside her sister[5]. She won her age group in 2015, 2017, and 2019, and claimed the Division 7 Championship three times[6]. In what would become a theme, she also won “Racer of the Year” in her rookie season[3]. As she aged out of junior competition, Macie made her national event debut at Sonoma in 2022 and added Super Comp to her résumé in 2023[7][8]. By 2023, she was driving full-time in competition, collecting a win at the Division 7 National Open in Sacramento[9].

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2015, 2017, 2019: Won age group championships in junior drag racing[10].
  • 2021: Named to Drag Illustrated’s prestigious 30 Under 30 list alongside her sister Maddi, chosen from 7,000 nominated racers[11].
  • 2022: Made national event debut in Sonoma[5].
  • 2023: Won Division 7 National Open in Sacramento; began racing Super Comp full-time[9][8].

INSPIRATIONS

Gordon comes from a multigenerational racing family where excellence isn’t optional. Her father Doug’s three world championships and her grandfather Mike’s TAFC career set a high bar, but it’s the family’s all-in approach that shaped her[12]. She works alongside her mother Cheryl, who manages day-to-day operations, and her sister Maddi, creating a tight-knit operation where everyone pulls their weight[13].

REPUTATION

What sets Macie apart is her role as both racer and crew chief. She’s the engine builder and car chief for the family operation, primarily working on the top of the engine—removing valve covers, pulling cylinder heads, and handling the technical work that most drivers never touch[14][13]. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, which is good because in this family, nobody gets a pass. Her school recognized her for kindness and leadership, but on the track, she’s known for putting her heart and soul into every aspect of the sport[3][6]. The Gordon sisters started M&M Manufacturing together, proving they’re as entrepreneurial as they are talented behind the wheel[15].

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

As of 2026, Macie continues to serve as engine builder and car chief for Gordon Family Racing while her sister Maddi transitions to Top Fuel with Ron Capps Motorsports[13]. With her grandfather Mike continuing to make tuning decisions and her mother managing operations, Macie remains the mechanical backbone of the family’s racing program[13]. She’s proven she can drive, wrench, and win—which means whatever comes next, she’ll be ready for it.
