• CAITLYN MCDANIEL made an impressive debut in the EDGE Caterham Seven 270R Championship at Zandvoort, securing an 11th place finish in her first race after a brilliant final-lap overtake on Graham Handy. The Fox Motorsport driver showed remarkable pace through sector one, consistently posting top-8 times without slipstream assistance, and methodically closed a five-second gap to less than one second before making her move stick when it counted.
• The American driver demonstrated smart racecraft across all three races, finishing 11th, 14th, and 14th while navigating her first experience racing outside the UK. MCDANIEL avoided incidents, battled wheel-to-wheel with experienced competitors, and consistently improved her sector times throughout the weekend, gaining valuable knowledge that she’ll carry into her primary GB4 Championship campaign where she currently sits 23rd overall.
• What stood out was MCDANIEL’s ability to extract pace from an unfamiliar car on an unfamiliar circuit – she was immediately competitive in testing, qualified 14th, and showed she belongs in close midfield battles. Her final race saw her go toe-to-toe with both Andy Palmer and Graham Handy in a three-way fight, ultimately finishing just a tenth behind Palmer after mounting a final challenge that proved she’s not intimidated by more experienced rivals.
