GRRL! SUMMARY:
- JAMIE CHADWICK is rewriting the ELMS record books with back-to-back wins in her debut LMP2 season, first becoming the first woman to win in the series’ LMP2 category at Barcelona, then making history again at Paul Ricard as the first woman to claim outright victory in ELMS. Her Paul Ricard performance was particularly impressive – starting on slicks in wet conditions, she climbed through the field with clean, consistent laps before handing off to teammates Daniel Juncadella and Mathys Jaubert for the overall win.
- The progression between races shows CHADWICK hitting her stride in prototype racing. While Barcelona required some strategy luck with a well-timed safety car, Paul Ricard was pure pace and racecraft – she held her own in brutal weather conditions, made zero mistakes, and emerged as one of the most valuable drivers in the opening stint. Her increased confidence and better understanding of traffic management in the endurance format has the IDEC Sport team looking like genuine contenders despite being an all-rookie LMP2 lineup.
- Next up is CHADWICK’s biggest challenge yet – her Le Mans debut on June 15-16 as part of the Genesis Magma trajectory program preparing for their future Hypercar entry. While she’s no stranger to 24-hour racing (class wins at Nürburgring 24 Hours and Silverstone), Le Mans represents a completely different test with LMP2 prototypes on motorsport’s biggest stage. This ELMS campaign marks her strategic shift from single-seaters to endurance racing, leveraging years of formula car experience including three W Series titles and that historic Road America IndyCar win.
