GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Sisters AMNA AL QUBAISI and HAMDA AL QUBAISI are breaking new ground as they join F1 Academy’s second season with MP Motorsport, racing under UAE licenses. Their participation represents a crucial step forward for Middle Eastern representation in international motorsport, particularly in the all-female racing series designed to develop women drivers.
- REEMA JUFFALI will also compete in F1 Academy’s opening round in Saudi Arabia this weekend, adding to the growing Middle Eastern presence in the series. This marks significant progress for women’s motorsport in a region where cultural and structural barriers have historically limited participation opportunities.
- Bahrain GP CEO Sheikh Salman bin Isa al-Khalifa acknowledged the region’s motorsport development challenges, noting that while Europe produces thousands of karting participants leading to professional drivers, the Middle East currently has only hundreds. However, with four countries now hosting F1 races, the infrastructure and platform for driver development is finally in place.
