GRRL! SUMMARY:
- ANNA CECCHI delivered her most complete weekend yet in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America, claiming her first pole position at Virginia International Raceway by nearly half a second over championship leader Jens Hantson. The Charlie Hayes Racing driver maximized her new tires in qualifying and showed the kind of one-lap pace that’s been building all season – finally putting it all together when it mattered most.
- Leading from pole in Saturday’s race one, CECCHI controlled the early stages before championship leader Hantson mounted his challenge on lap six. While she couldn’t hold off the veteran’s late-race pressure, CECCHI matched her career-best second place finish, staying within striking distance and proving she belongs at the front of the field in the competitive Cayman Pro/Am class.
- Sunday’s race two showcased CECCHI’s racecraft as she charged from fifth on the grid to another podium finish. Her aggressive but smart move on Erika Hoffmann at Oak Tree demonstrated the confidence that comes with success, and her defensive driving on the final lap to secure third showed she’s learned how to close out results under pressure.
