GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Three women delivered statement performances at Watkins Glen, with MADDIE AUST finishing eighth, MEGAN TOMLINSON ninth, and two-time champion TAYLOR HAGLER marking her series return with tenth place. Aust continues her impressive rookie campaign alongside co-driver Suellio Almeida, while Tomlinson and her father Ron bounced back from an early penalty to secure their fourth top-ten of the season, moving them to tenth in championship standings.
- HAGLER’s comeback performance was particularly compelling – stepping in for Bryson Morris in the Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai, she immediately found pace in practice with top-three times and qualified 12th. After recent GT3 success in Europe’s competitive ADAC GT Masters, Hagler showed she hasn’t missed a beat in TCR machinery, running consistent 1:59s and steadily advancing through the field before co-driver Mark Wilkins brought the car home tenth.
- The weekend wasn’t without drama – RILEY PEGRAM and MEGAN TOMLINSON made contact early at the Bus Stop chicane, with Pegram spinning and losing a lap while Tomlinson received a penalty. Pegram delivered a strong recovery drive to regain track position before mechanical issues ended their day with 12 minutes remaining. CHRISTINA LAM also showed pace in the opening stint before fuel pump problems sidelined the Rockwell Autosport Audi, proving once again that when women get competitive machinery, they deliver results that speak for themselves.
