GRRL! SUMMARY:
- After 12 years in Top Fuel that produced 18 national event wins and two world championships, BRITTANY FORCE is heading into her final two races before stepping away to start a family. The daughter of drag racing legend John Force qualified No. 1 in Las Vegas on Friday, aiming to finish strong at both her “home away from home” track and the season finale in Pomona. Force has been making headlines all season as the first Top Fuel driver to crack 340 mph, including a jaw-dropping 343.51-mph run at Indy that she still can’t quite believe happened.
- Reflecting on her decision to take a break, Force described it as “bittersweet,” eager to follow the path of her racing sisters Ashley and Courtney who also stepped away for motherhood, yet torn about leaving the cockpit where she finds so much joy. “I hope I’ve inspired people by doing what I do, doing what I love to do, and making a career out of it,” she said, emphasizing how she wants to motivate others to chase their dreams and push past their comfort zones, whether in NHRA or any other pursuit.
- With potentially just 14 more runs left in her Top Fueler – or as few as seven if things go sideways – Force is trying to stay present and “drive from the heart” as her father always taught her. Her career began as a teenager in Super Comp before moving to A/Fuel and finally Top Fuel in 2013, where she never imagined achieving two championships, multiple wins, and speed records. “When I look at my career, and I go back to 2013 when I climbed into the seat in my rookie season and debuted in Pomona, I never imagined two championships and the wins and the records. It just seems so surreal.”
UPCOMING:
- Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals – Las Vegas Motor Speedway – Nov 1-2
- In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals – Pomona – Final event
