GRRL! SUMMARY:
- BRITTANY FORCE claimed her 54th career No. 1 qualifying position at Virginia Motorsports Park, running 3.839 seconds at 327.98 mph in her Chevrolet Accessories dragster. The two-time Top Fuel World Champion had to overcome difficult memories of the track where her father John Force crashed at 300 mph last year, admitting “everywhere I look, I see something that reminds me of that day.”
- Despite the emotional challenge, FORCE delivered when it mattered most, posting consistent runs throughout qualifying and securing her second No. 1 start of the season. Her crew chief Dave Grubnic has the car “really tuned up” for the hot conditions, giving her confidence heading into race day against point leader Tony Stewart in the first round.
- The performance continues FORCE’s strong 2024 campaign, adding to her recent victory at Epping and reinforcing her status as the only woman to win 300 rounds in Top Fuel. She’s proven that being the lone woman in the sport’s signature class doesn’t slow her down – if anything, it makes her victories that much more meaningful for fans watching her rewrite the record books.
