GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • CELIA MARTIN and the #85 Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3 R were eliminated in the initial qualifying session, missing the cut for Hyperpole at Circuit of the Americas. The wet conditions and competitive field meant Martin couldn’t find the pace needed to advance to the top-10 shootout for pole position.
  • The qualifying session was dominated by changing weather conditions, with initial lap times over 20 seconds slower than dry practice before gradually improving as the track dried. Martin’s Iron Dames team faced the challenge of extracting maximum performance from their Porsche in the tricky wet-to-dry transition that caught out several other competitors.
  • While Ford secured a front-row lockout with their Proton Competition Mustangs, Martin and Iron Dames will need to fight from further back in the grid for Sunday’s six-hour endurance race. The all-female Iron Dames squad continues building experience in the ultra-competitive WEC GT3 field where every qualifying session matters for race strategy.

UPCOMING:

  • WEC Lone Star Le Mans Race – Circuit of the Americas
  • WEC Bahrain 8 Hours – Season Finale
