GRRL! SUMMARY:
- CHLOE CHAMBERS absolutely owned the mixed conditions at Zandvoort, becoming the only driver to crack the 1:37 barrier in rain-affected practice. The Campos Racing ace and recent Canada winner clocked a 1:36.873 – more than a tenth faster than MAYA WEUG and four tenths clear of DORIANE PIN. When the weather gods decided to make things interesting halfway through, everyone else was playing catch-up while Chambers had already set her marker.
- The session had all the drama you’d expect from F1 Academy – home hero NINA GADEMAN was ruled unfit to race, NICOLE HAVRDA got slapped with a 10-place grid penalty for overtaking under red flags, and multiple drivers including ALBA LARSEN and ELLA LLOYD went sliding at Turn 1 when the rain intensified. Even Chambers herself had a moment at Turn 3 late in the session, proving these conditions were testing everyone’s limits.
- Wild card ESMEE KOSTERMAN showed she belongs by climbing into the top ten and leading the Hitech cars, while TINA HAUSMANN delivered an impressive sixth place performance. JOANNE CICONTE continued her solid weekend with another P11 finish, proving consistency in tricky conditions. With unpredictable weather still forecast for the Dutch round, we’ve got the makings of a properly chaotic qualifying session where track position could be everything.
