DYSTANY SPURLOCK Makes NASCAR History, Eyes Cup Series After ARCA Debut

• DYSTANY SPURLOCK made history March 28 at Hickory Motor Speedway, becoming the first Black woman to compete in a NASCAR-affiliated series, finishing seventh in the ARCA Menards Series East Cook Out 200 for MBM Motorsports.
• SPURLOCK’s motorsports resume includes world records in motorcycle drag racing, Formula 4 experience, and status as second Black woman in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle after pioneer PEGGY LLEWELLYN, who she credits for paving the way.
• The Houston native trains with personal trainer Bri on ski machines and heavy lifting, logs four-hour sim sessions on iRacing for new tracks, and works with performance coach Phil Horton alongside teammate Lavar Scott at MBM.
• SPURLOCK’s What’s Your Destiny Foundation sponsors five kids annually in junior dragster and bandolero racing while addressing mental and physical health, driven by her mission to smooth the path for future racers facing motorsports’ gatekeeping culture.
