JAMIE CHADWICK Leads Overall Before Crash Drops IDEC Sport to P11 at Imola

July 7, 2025

GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • JAMIE CHADWICK delivered another masterclass at Imola, leading the ELMS race overall after the first hour and running consistently in second place during her double stint before handing over the #18 IDEC Sport Oreca. Her performance continued her remarkable debut LMP2 season that’s already included a class win at Barcelona and making history as the first woman to win overall in ELMS at Le Castellet.
  • The championship-leading trio of CHADWICK, Dani Juncadella, and Mathys Jaubert entered Imola as points leaders but faced misfortune when Juncadella crashed at Variante Alta in deteriorating wet conditions, putting the car two laps down. Despite strong recovery efforts in the final stint, the team finished P11—just outside the points-paying positions after winning the season’s first two races.
  • CHADWICK’s commanding drive showed she belongs at the front of the LMP2 field, setting the fastest lap early in the race with a 1:34.047 and holding off pressure from experienced competitors while managing traffic expertly. The result drops the team to just one point behind the new championship leaders, keeping the title fight wide open with three rounds remaining and Spa-Francorchamps next on the calendar.
