January 1, 1990

GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • MOLLY TAYLOR and her teammate Kevin Hansen just made motorsport history by winning the inaugural FIA Extreme H World Cup in Saudi Arabia, claiming victory in the world’s first FIA-sanctioned hydrogen-powered racing event. The Australian driver anchored the win for home team Jameel Motorsport, taking the chequered flag more than seven seconds ahead of the field in Saturday’s eight-car finale at Qiddiya City.
  • The format proved what we’ve been saying all along – when women get equal machinery and responsibility, they deliver. Each team fielded one male and one female driver with identical duties behind the wheel of the Pioneer 25 hydrogen fuel cell machines. TAYLOR and Hansen dominated the weekend, finishing second in Thursday’s Time Trials before winning five Head-to-Head races on Friday and securing pole position for the final.
  • The podium showcased the depth of female talent in off-road racing, with KLARA ANDERSSON (Carl Cox Motorsport) and HEDDA HOSÅS (Team EVEN) joining TAYLOR in the top three finishers. After Hansen handed over the car in the lead during the final, TAYLOR never looked back, extending their advantage and proving that when the pressure was highest, she delivered exactly what the moment demanded.

UPCOMING:

  • Next FIA Extreme H event TBA
