GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Four-time Top Fuel champion Steve Torrence claimed provisional No. 1 with a blazing 3.840s pass at 320.81mph in challenging Vegas heat, marking his potential 41st career top qualifier position. Despite running on seven cylinders for most of the pass, his Capco Contractors dragster still delivered the goods when it mattered most.
- Paul Lee continued his hot streak in Funny Car, laying down a 3.940s at 326.08mph that showcased his team’s ability to handle extreme track conditions reaching 135 degrees. The run puts him in line for his second career No. 1 qualifier, building on momentum from his first career win just two races ago in Phoenix.
- Pro Stock points leader Greg Anderson dominated his class with a 6.637s at 205.32mph, targeting his third No. 1 qualifier in four races while riding a two-race win streak. The defending champion’s consistent excellence at Vegas continues – he’s won eight times at the facility, trailing only the track record holder by two victories.
