Chantal Prinz is a Swiss endurance racing specialist who’s spent the better part of two decades proving that stamina, strategy, and a family-run operation can beat the big-budget factory teams—and she’s got the silverware to prove it.

EARLY YEARS

Born December 4, 1981, in Wädenswil, a town in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland, Chantal grew up immersed in motorsport thanks to her father Michael Kroll, who founded Hofor Racing in 2004. The family team became her training ground, her proving ground, and eventually, her platform for dominating endurance racing. Racing alongside her father and uncle Martin Kroll from the start, she learned the craft in the most hands-on way possible—by doing it, lap after lap, hour after hour.

OTHER INTERESTS

When asked about her helmet design, Prinz revealed a surprisingly sentimental side. As a child, she drew helmet designs for herself, her father, and her uncle—each in different colors. Her father kept those drawings, and while her final design evolved, the personal touch remained. The hibiscus flowers that adorn her helmet have become her signature, a feminine flourish in a sport that rarely makes room for such things.

EARLY SUCCESS

Prinz cut her teeth in the Creventic 24H Series, competing primarily with Hofor Racing in various GT and touring car categories. By 2016, she had already established herself as a serious competitor, claiming a class driver championship despite winning their class in only one race that season—a testament to her consistency and racecraft. She repeated the feat in 2017, cementing her reputation as a driver who could extract maximum points from every outing. Her specialty became the Nürburgring, that infamous 15.77-mile beast of a circuit where mistakes end careers and success builds legends. She became a Nürburgring specialist in the NLS series, learning every camber change, every blind crest, every place where the track tries to kill you.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2015: Overall GT Drivers’ champion in the 24H Series Europe.
  • 2016: Class driver champion in the 24H Series.
  • 2017: Class driver champion in the 24H Series and Overall GT Drivers’ champion in the 24H Series Europe.
  • 2018: Winner of the 24H Series Ladies Cup.
  • 2021: Class victory (SP6) at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring.
  • 2024: Class victory (SP6) at the ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring.
  • 2025: Overall victory at the Michelin 24H of Barcelona with Hofor Racing—ending the team’s ten-year win drought in spectacular fashion.
  • 2025: Class victory (GT3 AM) and Middle East Trophy title at the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi.
  • 2025: Podium finish at the 12H of Mugello.

INSPIRATIONS

Prinz’s biggest inspiration is close to home—literally. Racing alongside her father Michael and uncle Martin created a bond that goes beyond typical team dynamics. In 2018, before the Hankook 12H IMOLA, her father surprised her with a special celebration to mark her marriage to fellow racer Alexander Prinz, who also drives for Hofor Racing. The gesture was vintage Michael Kroll: understated, meaningful, and perfectly timed. Alexander himself has become both teammate and life partner, creating a racing marriage that’s equal parts romantic and pragmatic. They race together, strategize together, and occasionally finish on the podium together—a partnership that works because they both understand that when you’re strapped into a car doing 150 mph, trust isn’t optional.

REPUTATION

Prinz has earned respect as a driver who thrives in the chaos of endurance racing, where mechanical reliability, driver consistency, and strategic brilliance matter as much as outright speed. Her 2025 overall victory at the 24H of Barcelona—achieved with co-drivers Alexander Prinz, Michael Kroll, Maximilian Partl, and Torsten Kratz in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo—was described as a “giant-killing” performance. Hofor Racing, a privateer team going up against factory-backed squads with bigger budgets and more resources, pulled off one of the season’s most memorable wins. It was the kind of result that reminds everyone why endurance racing remains beautifully unpredictable. With 73 career starts, 4 wins, and 19 podiums in the 24H Series alone, she’s built a resume that speaks for itself. She’s not the flashiest driver on the grid, but she’s one of the most effective—the kind of racer who makes fewer mistakes than anyone else and capitalizes when others falter.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Prinz continues to compete in the Creventic 24H Series with Hofor Racing, maintaining her focus on endurance racing’s most demanding events. With entries confirmed for the Michelin 12H Spa-Francorchamps 2025 and the Michelin 24H Dubai 2026, she shows no signs of slowing down. Her consistency and experience make her a valuable asset in any multi-driver lineup, and as Hofor Racing continues to punch above its weight, she remains at the center of the team’s ambitions.
