Emma Scarbrough is a rising American open-wheel racing talent from Georgia who’s making her mark transitioning from a successful karting career to formula cars. At just 16, she’s already setting her sights on INDYCAR and IMSA while competing in the 2025 USF Juniors series.
EARLY YEARS
Born on May 18, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia, Emma grew up in the racing-friendly environment of Senoia, Georgia. She discovered karting at an early age and quickly progressed from four-cycle to two-cycle karts, competing in national series including Superkarts! USA Winter Series and Pro Tour, the United States Pro Kart Series, and ROK Cup USA. While balancing her racing ambitions with high school as an 11th grader, she’s managed to build a solid foundation in motorsports through her karting years.
OTHER INTERESTS
When she’s not behind the wheel, Emma stays active playing soccer and basketball, calling them her favorite sports. She’s also proven herself quite the angler—winning a fishing tournament in saltwater fishing. Travel feeds her adventurous spirit, with Spain, Portugal, and London topping her list of favorite destinations visited so far. Greece, skydiving, and attending the Monaco Grand Prix sit firmly on her bucket list. Emma admits she wishes she was more artistic, and when it comes to food, she’s all about picanha and chicken fajitas (which she can actually cook), though her guilty pleasure is a trip to Raising Cane’s.
EARLY SUCCESS
Emma’s transition from karting to open-wheel cars began gaining momentum in 2024 when she took her first laps in formula cars and completed extensive testing in F4 cars in Spain over six days. She continued her aggressive preparation through the offseason, competing in the YACademy Winter Series at both Homestead and NOLA Motorsports Park. This groundwork positioned her for her 2025 debut in USF Juniors, where she’s already being regarded as a solid top-10 contender in her rookie season.

Outside of motorsports, she supports the Atlanta Bulldogs in college football and Atlanta United in soccer, staying true to her Georgia roots.

Industry observers have taken notice of Emma’s steady progression and professional approach to her racing development. Her methodical climb through karting ranks and aggressive preparation for open-wheel racing has earned her recognition as a promising talent. The team at InterMS welcomed her with confidence in their ability to achieve great results together, and early assessments position her as a legitimate top-10 contender in her USF Juniors debut season.
