FULL BIO: Maggie Webster
At just 18 years old, Maggie Webster is already making waves in British motorsports as one of the few young women competing in male-dominated racing series. This Kent-based racer has gone from being the only girl at karting camps to charging through the field in the BRSCC championships, proving that talent doesn’t care about gender stereotypes.
EARLY YEARS
Growing up in Kent, Maggie’s introduction to motorsports came through go-karting at a young age. Her early racing experiences were defined by being surrounded by boys—sometimes she was the only girl at entire race weekends, especially in her age group. Despite this isolation, or perhaps because of it, she developed a fierce competitive spirit that would serve her well. At karting practice camps, coaches quickly recognized her natural ability, often placing her at the front of practice sessions to set the pace for groups of 16 boys trailing behind her.
OTHER INTERESTS
When she’s not behind the wheel, Maggie’s love for the ocean shines through—it’s the reason blue became her favorite color. She dreams of getting her hands on a 1970s Mini Cooper painted in that perfect ocean blue once she gets her driver’s license. While racing dominates her life, her connection to the sea suggests a love for the natural world that provides a nice counterbalance to the mechanical intensity of motorsports.
EARLY SUCCESS
Her favorite racing memory captures everything you need to know about Webster’s competitive drive: during practice starts at a karting camp, her coach positioned her in first place and she led the entire field from start to finish—no one passed her. That moment of dominance became a defining memory that showcased her natural racecraft and ability to handle pressure. Her early karting career was built on developing strong race starts and overtaking skills, qualities that would prove essential as she moved up the racing ladder.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2024: Competed in BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, demonstrating strong recovery drives and race pace[1].
- 2024: Recovered from low grid position to finish 12th overall and 4th in MK6 class during BRSCC race[1].
- 2024: Currently competing in BRSCC ST240 series[4].
- 2024: Survived season finale rollover accident uninjured, showing the resilience that defines her racing spirit[1].
INSPIRATIONS
George Russell tops her list of motorsports heroes, and it’s not hard to see why—his smooth driving style and professional approach mirror the qualities Maggie brings to her own racing. But her biggest inspiration comes from a vision of the future: “I want more girls to be in Formula 1; that would be so much more fun to watch,” she says. This isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s a mission statement that drives her own career and her desire to see more young women follow in her tire tracks.
REPUTATION
Webster has earned respect for her racecraft and recovery abilities on track. Race reports consistently highlight her strong pace and overtaking skills—in one 2024 BRSCC race, she was clocked as the second fastest driver on track during lap eight, and again on the final lap, showing consistency under pressure. Her ability to fight through the field has become her calling card, along with her advocacy for increasing female participation in motorsports. She’s known for breaking barriers while maintaining the competitive edge that earns respect from male competitors who initially might have underestimated the girl in their midst.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
While specific 2025 plans haven’t been publicly announced, Webster’s trajectory suggests continued progression through British motorsports series. Her ultimate goal extends beyond personal success—she wants to be part of the generation that normalizes female participation in racing, particularly with an eye toward Formula 1. At 18, she’s perfectly positioned to continue developing her skills while serving as an inspiration for the next wave of girls who might otherwise think racing isn’t for them.
