Rainey Pogue

Rainey Pogue is a Wyoming-born motorcycle racer who traded competitive snowboarding for two wheels after a career-ending injury, becoming one of the most tenacious riders in Southern California’s club racing scene—and earning the nickname “Wreck-It!” along the way.

EARLY YEARS

Growing up in Wyoming, Rainey gravitated toward action sports from childhood. She started her competitive career on a snowboard, carving through her home state’s mountains with the kind of fearlessness that would later define her racing style. But an injury ended that chapter before she was ready to quit competing. Instead of retreating, she pivoted—trading snow for asphalt and finding a new outlet for her adrenaline addiction in motorcycle road racing.

OTHER INTERESTS

When she’s not at the track, Pogue is a graphic and web designer who runs her own creative business. She’s also a Gear Customization Specialist for Bison Track, serving as their sole California agent and handling trackside interactions with customers across Southern California and the Southwest[1]. Between designing websites, wrenching on bikes in the garage, and playing guitar “somewhere a little too loud,” she’s built a life that refuses to sit still[2].

EARLY SUCCESS

Pogue’s expert rookie year was, in her own words, “eventful to say the least”[3]. She dealt with mechanical gremlins, a sticky throttle crash, and several other incidents where the bike failed her mid-race. Despite missing four of seven races in the FemmeWalla class during her first expert season, she still managed to finish fourth in points with a fourth-place, a third-place, and a borrowed-bike finish that proved she could hustle on anything with two wheels[3]. It wasn’t pretty, but it was gritty—and it got people’s attention.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

• 2022: Finished 23rd overall in CVMA points standings with 373 points, competing in Expert A classification[4].
• 2023: Competed in Expert Middleweight divisions in her first full expert middleweight class season[5].
• 2023: Raced alongside Quincy Bowers under A Fresh Face Racing sponsorship[6].
• 2024: Married fellow racer Ty Bengford and crewed for him during his inaugural MotoAmerica Stock 1000 season[7].
• 2025: Continued competing in CVMA road racing events at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Formula 2, FemmeWalla, and other classes[8].

INSPIRATIONS

Pogue’s competitive fire was forged in Wyoming’s snowboarding scene, but her transition to motorcycles introduced her to a new kind of community. Training with Jason Pridmore and his crew at JP43 Training helped sharpen her skills[9], while racing alongside—and eventually marrying—fellow racer Ty Bengford brought her deeper into the national racing world. In the CVMA paddock and beyond, Pogue is known as much for her persistence as her speed. She’s the racer who’ll jump on a borrowed bike mid-season and still clock a podium finish. She’s the one who can tear down a Suzuki GSX-R600 in the morning and design a website by afternoon. And she’s earned respect not just for her results, but for showing up race after race, crash after crash, refusing to let setbacks define her trajectory. As a Bison Track rep, she’s also become a familiar face trackside, bridging the gap between racer and industry with the kind of authenticity you can’t fake[1].

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Pogue continues to compete in CVMA events and has her sights set on expanding her racing resume nationally. She’s talked about plans to race the MotoAmerica national circuit, a logical next step for someone who’s already proven she can hang with expert-level competition[5]. Whether she’s chasing lap times, helping Bengford wrench on his national campaign, or repping Bison Track across the Southwest, one thing’s clear: she’s not slowing down.
