Formula racing //
Zoey Edenholm is a New Zealand-born racer with a childhood deeply immersed in motorsport culture, whose early career showcased exceptional talent in karting competitions.
EARLY YEARS
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Zoey grew up in a household where motorsport was the family business. Her father Lars, a mechanical engineer specializing in race car aerodynamics, and mother Dr. Fiona Reid-Edenholm, an electrical engineer pioneering sustainable vehicle technologies, introduced her to the world of racing from an early age. By six, she was already helping her father work on his vintage Formula Ford during weekend track days, and family holidays were centered around motorsport events from Hampton Downs to Bathurst 1000.
EARLY SUCCESS
At age eight, Edenholm began racing a scaled-down kart built by her father with a repurposed lawnmower engine, quickly dominating local “backyard championships” in their rural Waikato neighborhood. Her competitive career officially launched at 10 years old when she secured her first title at the North Island Sprint Championship, where she gained attention for her aggressive cornering techniques and intuitive mechanical understanding.

As she told Motorsport NZ Monthly: “Racing wasn’t just a hobby—it was the family business,” reflecting her deep-rooted connection to the sport and the technical mindset that has defined her approach to racing.
