American rally driver Sara Price has set her sights on winning the 2027 Dakar Rally, aiming to become the first American woman to achieve the feat.
Price finished second in the Stock category at the 2026 Dakar Rally alongside co-driver Sean Berriman, helping Defender secure a historic one-two finish on its debut in the competition. She also won stages during the gruelling event in Saudi Arabia.

“My goal is very, very clear. I want to win the Dakar Rally. I want to be the first American female to do that,” Price said.
The 33-year-old is preparing for another challenge in the desert, where rough terrain, sharp rocks and demanding navigation can test both drivers and their vehicles. She says Saudi Arabia’s largely untouched terrain presents a different challenge from the familiar off-road landscapes of the United States. Price previously made history in 2024 by becoming the first American woman to win a Dakar stage. Now, she wants to turn her stage-winning speed into overall success in the 2027 edition, scheduled for January 1-15 in Saudi Arabia.
