GRRL! SUMMARY:
- MIKI KOYAMA delivered a solid sixth-place qualifying effort in the hybrid No. 31 Lexus at Sportsland Sugo, marking an encouraging upturn in form for her team. Her performance put her right behind the title-contending Inging Toyota, positioning her well for Sunday’s 300km race where track position will be crucial.
- The GT300 class saw intense competition with CarGuy MKS Racing claiming their first pole position through Rikuto Kobayashi, building on their breakthrough win at Suzuka. The newly-formed Ferrari team continues proving that fresh approaches can shake up established hierarchies in Japan’s premier sports car series.
- While KOYAMA’s sixth-place start puts her in striking distance of the leaders, she’ll need to capitalize on her hybrid Lexus’s strengths during the race stint to move up the order. The 300km distance at Sugo should provide plenty of opportunities for strategy and position changes as teams manage their success ballast and fuel flow restrictions.
UPCOMING:
- Sportsland Sugo 300km Race – Sunday 1:30 PM JST
- Super GT Round 7 TBA
