FULL BIO: Mathilda Paatz
Mathilda Paatz is a promising German motorsport talent who made history in 2024 as the first female driver supported by the ADAC and DMSB program, competing in the French Formula 4 Championship after a successful karting career.
EARLY YEARS
Born in Cologne, Germany, Mathilda’s motorsport journey began at just four years old when she went karting for the first time. Her passion for racing was inherited from her father, Michael Paatz, who has a background in the VLN endurance championship at the Nürburgring.
EARLY SUCCESS
In 2020, Mathilda competed with the TB Racing Team in the ADAC Kart Masters mini class, finishing third in the championship while winning the Ladies Cup. That same year, she claimed the championship in the West German ADAC Kart Cup. By 2021, she had advanced to the OK Junior superior kart class and became one of four finalists in the FIA Girls On Track – Rising Stars programme, competing for a place in the Ferrari Driver Academy.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2020: Won the West German ADAC Kart Cup championship and Ladies Cup in the ADAC Kart Masters.
- 2022: Represented Germany in the FIA Motorsport Games and achieved third place in the ADAC Kart Masters.
- 2023: Became a finalist in the FIA Girls On Track – Rising Stars program and tested a Formula 4 car at Franciacorta.
- 2024: Debuted in single-seaters with the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team in the French F4 Championship.
