• DORIANE PIN, Mercedes F1 junior, lost a probable Le Mans 24 Hours victory when her class-leading #30 Duqueine Team Oreca LMP2 suffered catastrophic brake failure with under 3.5 hours remaining in the race.
• Teammate Richard Verschoor was driving when the left-front brake “exploded” at the Mulsanne chicane, forcing retirement while commanding the LMP2 class alongside co-driver Julian Andlauer in their dominant run.
• The retirement handed the lead to the #343 machine with Reshad de Gerus aboard, while Nick Yelloly in the #43 challenged just 4.7 seconds behind in the reshuffled class battle.
