FULL BIO: Lucy Michel
Lucy Michel is a German motorcycle racer who discovered her passion for two wheels at age eight and has systematically climbed the racing ladder from pocket bikes to international competition in the inaugural FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship.
EARLY YEARS
Growing up in Germany, Lucy’s racing journey began with a chance encounter at a local fair when she was just eight years old. Captivated by the motorbikes she saw there, she convinced her family to take her to a Grand Prix track for a pocket bike experience after seeing a promotion in an ADAC magazine. That first ride left an indelible mark—she later described the feeling as “just crazy” and fell in love with the adrenaline rush. Shortly after this pivotal moment, she began racing training at the Sachsenring circuit, setting the foundation for what would become a dedicated racing career.
OTHER INTERESTS
Beyond the racetrack, Lucy is pursuing a career in healthcare, training to become a medical technologist in radiology. This dual focus on racing and education has required careful balancing, with Lucy sometimes taking breaks from competition to concentrate on her studies. As she puts it, “Sometimes it’s quite difficult to get everything under one roof,” highlighting the challenge of managing both professional aspirations simultaneously.
EARLY SUCCESS
Lucy wasted no time making her mark in competitive racing. She entered the ADAC Pocket Bike Cup in 2014, her debut season, and immediately showed her potential by taking her first race victory. This early success validated her decision to pursue racing seriously and demonstrated that her passion could translate into tangible results on track. From there, she methodically progressed through the German racing hierarchy, moving to the ADAC Mini Bike Cup in 2016 and then advancing to the ADAC Junior Cup, where she consistently scored points and proved she belonged among the rising talent in German motorcycle racing.

The adrenaline rush and sense of freedom she experiences on a bike continue to drive her passion for racing. She has expressed that the feeling of riding is something she “can’t describe” but describes as “just crazy,” indicating that her inspiration comes from the pure, visceral connection between rider and machine rather than following in the footsteps of specific racing heroes.

Media coverage consistently portrays her as passionate and driven, with a pioneering spirit that aligns with the broader movement to develop women’s opportunities in motorsport.
