GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • BRITTANY FORCE had the weekend of a lifetime at Sonoma, setting a world record with her jaw-dropping 3.645 at 343.16 mph that held up for her third No. 1 qualifying position of the season. The two-time world champion followed that historic run by winning her first Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge of 2025, defeating Justin Ashley with a solid 3.869 at 324.75 mph in the final round while Ashley struggled with tire smoke.
  • The dominant performance puts FORCE in perfect position for Sunday’s eliminations, where she’ll face points leader Shawn Langdon who had qualifying struggles of his own. Her crew chief David Grubnic immediately went back to work after Friday’s celebration, focused on turning this record-breaking momentum into another Sonoma victory for the Monster Energy dragster team.
  • While the spotlight rightfully belonged to FORCE, the weekend also featured strong showings across other categories. Matt Hagan secured his first No. 1 qualifier of the season in Funny Car with a 3.861 at 332.59, though he fell to Ron Capps in the Mission Challenge final. Dallas Glenn continued his torrid 2025 pace by winning the Pro Stock Mission Challenge with a track record 6.471 while also claiming his fourth No. 1 qualifying position as the current points leader.

UPCOMING:

  • Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals – August 14-17 at Brainerd International Raceway
  • U.S. Nationals – Details TBA
