GRRL! SUMMARY:
- MARIA HERRERA delivered when it counted most, setting a blistering new lap record of 1’40.468 to claim pole position at the scorching Cremona Circuit. The Klint Forward Factory Team rider had to push from lap one in 50°C track temperatures, using slipstream tactics and sheer determination to secure the top spot. Her strategic approach paid off perfectly – knowing the heat would only get worse, she went for broke early and nailed it.
- Local hero ROBERTA PONZIANI couldn’t quite match her teammate but proved she’s ready to fight on home soil, qualifying just 0.127 seconds behind HERRERA for a front-row start. The experienced Italian is hungry to repeat her 2024 podium performance at this track, and with the team’s strong technical setup already dialed in from testing, she’s positioned perfectly to challenge for the win tomorrow.
- ASTRID MADRIGAL put together her best qualifying performance to date, securing third place and proving the Mexican has the pace to run with the championship contenders. Just 0.176 seconds off pole, MADRIGAL showed smart racecraft by sticking with the leaders and believes a podium finish is within reach. Meanwhile, rookie AVALON LEWIS impressed with sixth place, and wildcard DENISE DAL ZOTTO qualified a respectable seventeenth in front of her home crowd.
