SARAH BOVY Delivers Epic Wet Weather Comeback for Podium at Home Track Debut

May 26, 2025

GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • SARAH BOVY made her historic racing debut at Spa-Classic on home soil and absolutely delivered, claiming third in GT2B class after starting dead last in a 42-car field. Mechanical issues prevented any qualifying laps, forcing her to start from the back—then she had to serve a 50-second penalty as a newly-promoted Silver driver. Talk about earning it the hard way.
  • The Iron Dames veteran showed exactly why she’s been promoted through the ranks, putting on a masterclass in wet weather driving across both Saturday and Sunday races. In torrential rain with zero electronic aids, she was lapping 20-30 seconds faster than competitors ahead of her, gaining positions hand over fist while others struggled to stay on track. Her Sunday performance was particularly stunning—fastest in class by over 4 seconds at one point.
  • What makes this even sweeter is that BOVY squeezed this extra race into an already packed 2025 schedule with Iron Dames’ ELMS and IMSA campaigns. She could have easily skipped the historic event, but instead chose to add a home race at Spa-Francorchamps. The result? A podium finish that proved her race-winning pace despite starting with completely wrong setup and weather conditions that had other drivers parking it.
