GRRL! SUMMARY:
- AIMEE WATTS bounced back from technical troubles to deliver her strongest weekend of the season at Knockhill, consistently running in the top-5 of RS Am and proving she belongs in podium fights. After qualifying fifth with a massive half-second improvement from practice, she showed the kind of racecraft that separates real competitors from weekend warriors – setting personal bests while under pressure and making bold overtaking moves that stuck.
- The Clean Racing driver’s best result came in race two with a fourth-place finish, but it was how she earned it that caught our attention. WATTS passed Dean Burden at the hairpin under pressure, then survived a questionable move from Karim Sekkat that pushed her off-road (Sekkat got penalized, naturally). Even after picking up her own track limits penalty, she kept her foot down and capitalized when Burden made his own mistake in the gravel.
- Race three delivered the weekend’s most compelling storyline as WATTS engaged in an extended battle with Reece Somerfield for the final podium spot. For over 10 laps, she systematically worked on corner exits and forced defensive moves, running wheel-to-wheel multiple times down the main straight. A late-race spin while attempting to get the jump out of Clarks cost her the position, but the sustained pressure she applied showed exactly the kind of racing intelligence that will get her back on the podium soon.
